My art describes organic shapes and animals with bold dark lines, finding unusual connections and adding a touch of otherworldly strangeness. I use limited colour pallets so the feeling of the painting is uncluttered. I primarily work with watercolour paints and inks, laying them down with paintbrushes and dip pens. The line work is the heart of everything I create, it feels a lot like I'm translating. I'm finding the movement of the drawing, the direction of growth, and writing it down. I'm a self-taught artist, my style being influenced by independent black & white 90's comics and the horror genre.
I grew up on the East Coast of Canada, mostly New Brunswick but I spent a lot of time in NFLD and Nova Scotia as well. Now I live in Vancouver, on the drive.
